Rules & Code of Conduct

The EvoThan Symposium is committed to fostering an environment of inclusivity, respect, and professionalism for all participants. By attending or participating in EvoThan Symposium events, you agree to adhere to the following code of conduct:

Expected Conduct

  1. Respectful Interaction: Treat all participants with consideration and respect, fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect and dignity.

  2. Open Communication: Engage in open and thoughtful communication, encouraging constructive dialogue and collaboration.

  3. Non-Discrimination: Refrain from engaging in any form of harassment, discrimination, or demeaning conduct based on factors including but not limited to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, familial status, disability status, or genetic information.

  4. Compliance: Adhere to all rules, policies, and procedures of the venues where EvoThan Symposium events are held, as well as all applicable laws and regulations.

Unacceptable
Behaviors

  1. Disruptive Behavior: Any disruptive or disrespectful behavior during presentations, discussions, or interactions with other participants.

  2. Abuse: Physical or verbal abuse directed towards any participant, event organizer, staff member, vendor, volunteer, or guest.

  3. Discrimination and Harassment: Verbal or nonverbal harassment, discrimination, or hostility against any individual or group based on protected characteristics.

  4. Sexual Misconduct: Any form of harassment, sexual harassment, or sexual assault, including unwelcome advances, offensive behavior, or inappropriate requests for sexual favors.

Reporting &
Enforcement

If you witness or experience any behavior that violates this code of conduct, please report it immediately to a member of the EvoThan Symposium organizing committee, event volunteers, or venue security. The organizing committee reserve the right to take appropriate actions to address violations of this code of conduct, ranging from warnings to expulsion from the symposium.

Reporting
Procedure

Reports of violations can be submitted personally or anonymously through the designated online submission form or by emailing evothanatology@gmail.com under “code infraction”. Reports will be handled by the organizing team, who will ensure confidentiality and impartiality in addressing the concerns raised.
